Line Styles
Custom line styles are easy to create in SolidWorks, but they do have their limitations. Line styles are limited to lines and gaps of desired lengths with or without bold ends. The can not have special characters or break symbols included.
Line Styles can be changed and created in the Tools/Options/Document Properties/Line Styles section. Clicking New will create a new line style. Change the name as you see fit. You can also double click on the name to edit or change it.

The format for creating line styles is simple. The “A” and “B” are for setting the ends of the line to Thin or Thick (Bold). The rest is of the line is made up of line segments and gaps. Positive numbers are line segments and negetive numbers are gaps. Zero (0) is also useable, but may not create what you think. A zero is best used after a “B” bold line end or for dots along a line.

Clicking on any of the other line styes will show you the coding that created the line.
